This photograph comes from the summer of 2024—a period when relations between Svetlana Dalla Lana, Michael Martinz and me were considerably friendlier.
That summer, Svetlana rented my brand-new Sea-Doo so that she and her then-fiancé, Michael Martinz, could travel across Christina Lake to reach her approximately $1.4-million, off-grid, boat-access-only cabin.
At the time, there was no open conflict. There were no public accusations, no warnings about alleged threats and certainly no reason for me to imagine where this story would eventually lead.
But by September 2024, the situation had changed.
Svetlana told me that she had ended her engagement to Martinz and called off their wedding. According to what she told me—not something I independently verified—the dispute involved the share of revenue Martinz was receiving from ivermectin sales through Ezra Healing. She said Martinz and his former wife had been supplying the ivermectin that she was selling.
Svetlana also told me that she had found another supplier. She claimed that her monthly revenue then increased from approximately $15,000–$30,000 to more than $100,000. She further told me that one of her significant customers was Alberta physician Dr. William Makis, whom I had previously introduced to her.
Those were her statements to me. I publish them as part of the chronology, not as independently established financial facts.
If her account was accurate, however, Martinz had potentially lost both a relationship and a lucrative commercial arrangement. I did not know him personally at the time, and I had no direct insight into what he thought about my involvement or the introduction I had made.
That commercial and personal rupture is important background to what came later.
In late 2025, I received information alleging that Martinz had been involved in discussions concerning a plot against me. A private investigator recorded relevant conversations and reported the alleged threat to police. I regard those recordings and that report as serious evidence requiring a competent investigation—but I am not presenting the alleged conspiracy as a fact proven in court.
Then, on January 22, 2026, our occupied family home was firebombed.
Only weeks separated the reported threat information from the attack.
I am not claiming that the photograph proves anything. It does not. Nor does the deterioration of a friendship, a broken engagement or a financial dispute establish responsibility for a violent crime.
What they may establish is context, possible motive and an investigative trail that should not simply be ignored.
There is another troubling element.
James McFaddin—Svetlana’s former brother-in-law and our former pastor at New Life Assembly—was reportedly serving as an RCMP chaplain. His wife, Maria McFaddin, is the mayor of Castlegar. In an audio recording made by the private investigator, Martinz can allegedly be heard saying that many people wanted me dead, including McFaddin.
That is an allegation contained in recorded material. McFaddin has not, to my knowledge, been charged with or found responsible for any wrongdoing connected with the attack.
But when a person associated with the RCMP is allegedly named in recorded threat-related material, the obvious questions are unavoidable:
- Was the statement properly investigated?
- Was McFaddin interviewed?
- Was his relationship to the RCMP identified and managed as a potential conflict?
- Were the financial dispute, the reported threats and the subsequent firebombing examined together?
- Did investigators obtain and preserve the complete recordings?
- Why has the family targeted in an occupied-house firebombing received so few meaningful answers?
The sequence deserves scrutiny:
- Summer 2024: Svetlana rents my new Sea-Doo to access her Christina Lake property with Martinz.
- September 2024: She tells me the engagement is over and describes a major change in her ivermectin supply and income.
- Late 2025: A private investigator records and reports conversations that I believe contain serious threat information.
- January 22, 2026: Our occupied family home is attacked with incendiary devices.
Is that sequence proof of who ordered or committed the firebombing? No.
Is it an obvious investigative trail? Absolutely.
Yet from the RCMP, the public hears crickets.
That silence is not reassuring. It is telling.
The photograph captures a moment before everything changed: before the broken engagement became relevant, before the alleged threats were reported, before our home burned and before the people tasked with providing answers appeared to retreat behind institutional silence.
I am not asking readers to convict anyone through a blog post. I am asking why evidence, relationships, potential motives and an extraordinarily serious act of violence have not produced transparent answers.
Look at the timeline.
Listen to the recordings.
Follow the relationships and the money.
Then ask the question the RCMP still has not adequately answered:
Do you see a pattern?
