🏛️ Small Towns Have 🚨 PASTOR, MAYOR, RCMP: COINCIDENCE OR SOMETHING MORE? 🚨
PART 2: QUESTIONS THAT NEVER WENT AWAY

🌲 Small Towns Have Long Memories
Castlegar is not a large city.
It is the kind of place where people know one another, where relationships overlap, and where information often travels long before it becomes public knowledge. Church members know city councillors. City councillors know business owners. Business owners know RCMP members. In a small community, everyone seems connected by only a degree or two of separation.
Normally that is one of the strengths of a small town.
Sometimes, however, it can make certain events difficult to understand.
By the end of 2020, my relationship with James McFaddin had deteriorated significantly. The dispute over the audio recording was only one piece of a much larger puzzle. As I would later discover, the questions surrounding that relationship were only beginning.
⛪ The Church Membership Dispute
In early 2021, I learned through a concerned church member that my name had apparently been removed from the church membership list while my wife’s name remained.
I did not receive a phone call.
I did not receive a letter.
I was not invited to a meeting.
No explanation was provided.
No process was offered.
No opportunity was given for me to respond or even understand what was taking place.
Instead, I learned about it indirectly.
For someone who had invested years of his life into New Life Church, the silence was difficult to understand.
This was not a church I attended casually. My wife had served as a Director of the Church. Together we had volunteered hundreds of hours. We had contributed financially. We had participated in youth programs, outreach initiatives, community events, and church operations.
I personally spent countless hours working with young people, mentoring youth, supporting community activities, assisting families, and helping with outreach efforts within the community.
For several years, New Life Church had become one of the central pillars of our lives.
That is why the lack of communication stood out.
Not because I believed I was entitled to special treatment.
But because basic transparency seemed absent.
Why was my membership removed?
Who made that decision?
Why was I not informed directly?
To this day, I do not believe those questions were ever properly answered.
🔍 Questions About My Family
Around the same period, I became aware that questions were allegedly being asked about my personal life and my family.
Among the questions I was told were being raised were:
• Was I abusing my wife?
• Had I forced my wife to resign from the Church Board?
Standing alone, those questions may appear unremarkable.
Pastors often become involved in difficult family situations. Church leaders sometimes inquire into matters affecting members of their congregation.
The issue was not that questions existed.
The issue was that I had no knowledge of concerns being raised until hearing about them from others. Nor was I ever approached directly and given an opportunity to address any concerns that may have existed.
Once again, information appeared to be moving around me rather than through me.
The result was simple.
Trust began to disappear.
🚔 The RCMP Connection
Over time another fact entered the picture.
James McFaddin became associated with the RCMP as a chaplain.
At the same time, Maria McFaddin continued serving as Mayor of Castlegar.
These facts, by themselves, prove absolutely nothing improper.
Community leaders often serve in multiple roles. Police agencies routinely work with chaplains. Municipal governments regularly interact with local RCMP detachments. That is entirely normal.
What makes the situation noteworthy is the broader context.
Throughout much of the last decade, I had become increasingly involved in matters touching government institutions, regulators, law enforcement agencies, complaints processes, and accountability mechanisms.
I had filed complaints.
I had challenged decisions.
I had questioned conduct.
I had exposed information that many people would have preferred remain hidden.
Some of those matters involved the RCMP directly.
Some involved organizations and individuals with longstanding relationships to the RCMP.
Against that backdrop, I found myself looking back over prior events and wondering whether I had fully understood the relationships that existed around me.
Perhaps I had.
Perhaps I had not.
🧩 Looking Back Through A Different Lens
Age has a way of changing perspective.
When I was younger, I was often focused on proving things.
Today I am more interested in documenting them.
The facts are what they are.
James McFaddin knew my family intimately.
He knew my legal affairs.
He knew my financial struggles.
He knew the challenges my wife and children had endured alongside me.
He knew my fears.
He knew my hopes.
He knew my plans for rebuilding my life and career.
He attended court proceedings, participated in private conversations, received sensitive correspondence, and had a level of insight into my circumstances that very few people possessed.
That is what makes the questions raised in this series so difficult for me to dismiss.
Years later, he would formally serve in a role connected to one of the institutions that appears repeatedly throughout my story.
Perhaps that means absolutely nothing.
Perhaps it means more than I understood at the time.
I genuinely do not know.
⚠️ The Question That Refuses To Go Away
This article is not intended to provide answers.
It is intended to preserve a timeline.
The emails exist.
The text messages exist.
The apology exists.
The correspondence exists.
The relationships existed.
The events occurred.
The timeline is real.
What remains uncertain is how all of those pieces fit together.
Was James McFaddin simply a pastor trying to help a congregant navigate an extraordinarily difficult period of life?
Was he a friend who became caught in circumstances beyond his control?
Or was there more occurring behind the scenes than I understood at the time?
Those questions remain unresolved.
After a decade of litigation, investigations, complaints, professional destruction, court proceedings, a Duty to Warn, an alleged murder-for-hire plot, and ultimately the firebombing of my family’s home, I have learned one thing:
The truth rarely reveals itself all at once.
More often, it emerges one piece at a time.
And sometimes the most important questions are the ones nobody wants asked.
🔥 Stay tuned. This story is far from over.
