If you want to understand what systemic RCMP corruption looks like on the ground, look no further than Brett Turner.

When I look back at the last decade of my family’s ordeal, one name keeps resurfacing: Brett Turner. A former RCMP officer who once lived across the street from us in Castlegar, Turner played a direct role in the campaign of intimidation and harassment my family endured. He didn’t just enforce the law — he twisted it.

The 2016 Easter Saturday Raid at my families home!!

On March 26, 2016 — Easter Saturday — Turner and his officers descended on our home with a tactical-like presence. They threatened to arrest me for criminal harassment and criminal extortion. No charges were ever laid, because there was no crime. But the damage was done. That public display branded me in my community, planted seeds of suspicion, and set in motion years of reputational destruction.

That day has since been referenced in multiple affidavits. Turner himself was personally involved, appearing at my doorstep and inserting himself into later communications.

2018–2019: CRCC Complaints WITHHELD

Between August 2018 and September 2019, I filed numerous harassment complaints with the Castlegar RCMP. At the time, Turner was Acting Staff Sgt. Every single complaint was dismissed. Instead of protecting us, Turner’s detachment shielded the very people causing us harm.

I filed a formal CRCC complaint (2019-0515) against Turner and the detachment. Later, a second CRCC complaint (2019-0651) followed. Both confirmed receipt, both were acknowledged, and yet — like so many other cases in Canada — accountability never arrived.

2019–2020: Named in Affidavits

Turner’s involvement didn’t disappear when he left Castlegar. He continued to show up in affidavits filed in my legal matters, always orbiting the same pattern of misconduct.

2024–2025: Turner Resurfaces Online

Years later, long after leaving the RCMP on medical leave for PTSD, Turner resurfaced online. It was 2024, and I had begun publicly exposing corruption through my podcast and whistleblower work. Out of nowhere, Turner re-emerged under Marty Belanger’s (@MartyUpNorth) posts on X.

Turner called me a “POS,” falsely claimed I had been to prison, and posted what he described as “warning shots” under my podcast promotions. These weren’t just insults — they were breaches of his RCMP oath. Turner disclosed confidential RCMP investigation details, including old allegations about “flattening his tires,” which he passed directly to Belanger. On October 6, 2024, Turner admitted in a post that he had shared fabricated, defamatory material — information only an RCMP officer could have accessed.

2024–2025 – Harassment Online Documented

By 2024, Turner had left the RCMP on medical leave for PTSD according to the women who was at the front at the RCMP detach in Castelgar who I knew well as a former neighbour and who I went to yoga with for years. Instead of healing, he resurfaced online under Marty Belanger’s (@MartyUpNorth) posts, targeting me with slurs and disinformation: (again I have not heard tell of Brett Turner for years up to this point … perhaps the last time I saw Brett Turner was in 2018 and now out of the blue he was resurfacing on X living in Alberta “retired” getting a pension of in the $3000 a month range after only 22 years of service (these are what his posts on X were elducing to btw this is not just me making this stuff up)

• Turner called me a “POS” (Thats the acronym for “Piece Of Shit”) and claimed I had been to “PRISON.” “In my 22 years as an RCMP officer, you’re the first person I’ve seen gone to PRISON.” – Brett Turner (X, 2024). See excerpt below:

• He issued a so-called “warning shot” under one of my podcast promotions: “Ummm.. Just FYI.. Mr. Drover has never held any position of any kind with the RCMP…” – Brett Turner (X, 2024)

• He accused me of “flattening his tires” during earlier investigations — a baseless claim and an open breach of RCMP case confidentiality. Yeah so like I am always into flatening tires on RCMP owned cars who live across the street from me!!! Yeah that was so me!!! What a dolt!!
• On October 6, 2024, Turner admitted in writing that he had sent defamatory, fabricated RCMP material to Belanger — including privileged information he had no right to disclose.

Here are the messages Turner wrote to Marty Belanger aka Marty up North to send to two friends of mine Erin Graham and Tanya Rowland’s back in August 2024:… see that he says I flattened his tires on his driveway when he basically lived across the street from us 😂 yeah right 😂 I didn’t do that nor did I think about doing it but had I?! Hmmmm?! 😂

These are not the actions of a disciplined retired officer. They are the actions of a corrupt cop — and a deeply tormented, traumatized former Mountie who, instead of ever doing the right thing, doubled down. Turner went after me and my family even harder, desperate to discredit me. That alone speaks volumes about what I know — and what he was trying to bury on behalf of the real criminals he was protecting.

It was those same criminals who, in March 2016, filed the false $10-million “extortion and criminal harassment” complaint that Turner used as a pretext to descend on my home. He and his crew of likely unsuspecting RCMP underlings blocked off neighborhood streets and surrounded my house like a tactical unit, threatening my arrest. Turner could never let go of the lies he helped construct, because exposing them would expose him.

This was a direct violation of the RCMP Police Act and his oath of secrecy.

June 2025: The CRCC Washes Its Hands

I filed yet another complaint. On June 27, 2025, the CRCC responded to my file (2025-2931). Their answer? Turner was no longer subject to the RCMP Act because he had retired. Case closed. They suggested I “pursue other remedies.”

In other words: once you retire, you’re untouchable.

The Pattern Is Clear

• 2016 – Turner leads a tactical-style raid on my family home, threatening arrest on fabricated $10M extortion and harassment allegations.
• 2018–2019 – As Acting Staff Sgt, Turner dismisses every harassment complaint I filed, shielding those who were really responsible.
• 2019–2020 – Turner’s name surfaces in affidavits and misconduct complaints, tying him to a broader pattern of RCMP cover-ups.
• 2024–2025 – Turner resurfaces online, joining coordinated harassment campaigns with Marty Belanger, breaching his RCMP oath, and spreading lies to discredit me.
• 2025 – The CRCC admits they’ll do nothing, because Turner is “no longer serving.”

Conclusion

Brett Turner’s story is not one of a decorated Mountie who served with honor. It is the story of an officer who abused his badge, silenced victims, and then — when the truth began to surface — slithered back online to keep the harassment alive under the shield of retirement and “PTSD leave.”

He was never held accountable:

• The RCMP protected him while he was serving.
• The CRCC washed their hands of him after he left.

This is not just about one corrupt officer. It’s about the system that empowered him, protected him, and then abandoned the victims he harmed.

Turner could have walked away quietly. Instead, he doubled down — proof that what I know is dangerous enough to those he was protecting that he felt compelled to try to destroy me publicly, years later. That is not the behavior of an innocent man. That is the behavior of someone who knew the lies he built his career on would eventually collapse.
