🚨 THE DAY I BECAME “UNGOVERNABLE” 🚨
“By their fruits you shall know them.” — Matthew 7:16
For years, I believed that if you brought evidence of wrongdoing to the right people, they would investigate it.
Instead, I found myself on trial.
⚖️ THE ALLEGATIONS (FABRICATIONS I SHOULD SAY) AGAIN ME?
Years ago, a professional regulator concluded that I was “ungovernable.”.. the only true thing since I was not even a member at the time nor was I living or working in that province and hadnt for years actually.
Among the allegations were that I:
🔹 Sent emails alleging improper conduct by certain individuals. (a lie)
🔹 Raised concerns about what I believed were illegal activities involving a corporation. (true)
🔹 Contacted the RCMP, the Alberta Securities Commission (ASC), and other agencies regarding those concerns. (nope the ASC subpoenaed me under oath and the RCMP just knocked on me door actually) I did not go to any of them actually!!
🔹 Continued pursuing those concerns after regulators declined to take action. (nope but I presued the corrupt investigators and corrupt RCMP and had them all removed and vanish)
🔹 Criticized institutions and officials whom I believed had failed to properly investigate. (nope, just told the truth actually so if the true hurts I guess I am guilty as charged)
🔹 Published blog posts discussing the issues and the people involved. (yes for two months and all of it was factual and true sooo what was the problem? I think you can figure that out?!)
📧 THE REAL CRIME?
According to the decision, one of my greatest sins was refusing to let the matter go.
I continued writing.
I continued asking questions.
I continued contacting regulators, law enforcement, government officials, and others about what I believed was a serious issue.
The message was clear:
🚫 Stop asking questions.
🚫 Stop writing emails.
🚫 Stop publishing.
🚫 Stop speaking.
BAD BAD BAD BAD… DONT ASK QUESTIONS!!!
🚔 THE RCMP & ASC
The allegations specifically referenced my communications with:
🚓 The RCMP
📈 The Alberta Securities Commission (ASC)
🏛️ Government officials and regulators
My offence was not that I committed fraud.
My offence was alleging that fraud had occurred and continuing to raise those concerns after others declined to act… after the ASC and RCMP came to me first and got me involved in this mess and then left me to the wolves….
🏷️ THE LABELS
Over time I was labelled:
❌ Unprofessional
❌ Lacking objectivity
❌ Harassing
❌ Abusive
❌ Vulgar
❌ Groundless
And eventually…
🚨 “Ungovernable.”
💭 THE QUESTION THAT REMAINS
Looking back nearly a decade later, what strikes me most is that the focus became the whistleblower rather than the allegations.
Whether people agree with me or disagree with me is not the point.
The question is much bigger:
❓ What happens when the institutions you report concerns to become the institutions judging you?
❓ What happens when raising concerns becomes the misconduct?
❓ What happens when the messenger becomes the target?
🍎 BY THEIR FRUITS
The Bible offers a simple test:
“By their fruits you shall know them.“
Not by accusations.
Not by labels.
Not by headlines.
Not by disciplinary decisions.
By actions.
In the end, history tends to judge people not by what they were called, but by what they did.
